Inspection and Calibration of CO Systems in Parking Lots

Optimum specializes in the inspection, calibration, and maintenance of CO detection systems in parking lots. These systems are designed to detect, alert, and extract carbon monoxide (CO) from underground parking facilities. Approved for installation by the Tel Aviv Municipality, they comply with European and Spanish standards, such as EN 50545-1 and UNE 23300, as well as Environmental Protection Authority regulations.

Maintenance Requirements and Periodic Inspections:

In compliance with environmental regulations, ventilation and extraction systems in parking lots must undergo periodic inspections every six months or annually. These inspections include:

  • CO Detector Calibration: Ensuring the detectors accurately identify CO levels.
  • CO Panel Testing: Verifying the proper functionality of the central system.
  • Ventilation Fans Testing: Ensuring automatic activation when high CO levels are detected.

Importance of Inspections:

Enclosed areas, such as underground parking lots, can accumulate toxic gas concentrations that pose health risks. The maximum allowable CO level in parking facilities is 30 PPM. CO control systems, equipped with dedicated detectors, activate ventilation fans to disperse gases as needed. Additionally, the system logs CO level data for tracking and monitoring purposes.

System Advantages:

  • Cost Savings on Initial Installation: Up to 80% reduction in costs.
  • Operational Efficiency: Targeted and effective fan activation.
  • Quick Response Time: Rapid activation upon detecting high CO levels.
